2005 - 2006:

The size of the event grew greatly over the years and with this so did the scale of our contribution. In 2006 we raised in excess of €100,000 for Barretstown House.

"Barretstown provides challenging activity-based programmes for children affected by cancer and other serious illness and their families. These programmes are designed to re-build confidence, self-esteem, trust and courage, in a safe, fun and supportive environment."

2004/2003:

In 2003 we wanted to expand the bike run, and with the help of Temple Street and An Garda Siochana we did. With close to 300 bikers waving and beeping their way down to Galway we raised €31,500.

This vastly exceeded our previous years funds and with this we were able to buy a kidney dialysis machine for the hospital.

As we exceeded our estimated total we also had a further €6,500 left to go towards the redecoration of another ward and the purchase of new ward decorations, fittings and bedding.

2002/before:

Over the years a umber of well deserving charities have benefitted from our fund raising. Who we've helped tells you where the money has gone from the years of biking up and down to Galway.

One of our first charites was Our Lady of Lourdes hospital drogheda, with the purchase of neonatal unit equipment costing over £13,500 and with the remaining £3,500, we helped fill their new toy room with various toys for all the sick children, along with a special toy for each sick child in the hospital at the time.

2002 was filled with many stories, Roy Keanes bust up with Mick being one of the biggest, however with our minds elsewhere that summer, as we were all working to raise money for the Beaumont Head and Spinal Unit.

Included in the organising was Fr. Tony Conlon, the Beaumont Hospital Chaplain who took part himself. Breaking our previous years record again, we raised a total of € 18,500 to directly purchase some much needed patient mobility equipment. This enabled patients of the hospital become more independant during their care. A well deserving and worth while charity.
