F.A.Q’s

Q. What dates are the Annual Across Ireland fun run on??.
A. The fun run is on Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st of August 2008.

Q. Where is the meeting point/launch for the event on Saturday??.
A. The event will take off from the ‘Lord Mayors residence’ (Mansion House) on Dawson Street, in Dublin city centre.

Q. What time is ‘Sign on’?? and what time is ‘Pull Out’ at??.
A. Sign On, is from 10.00am to 12.30pm on Saturday and Pull Out, is at 1.00pm (sharp).

Q. Is the run Marshalled and do we travel in a group/convoy??.
A. Yes the run is fully marshalled (Marshall out riders), and has also got a Garda bike escort also. Yes we do travel in convoy as with 600-700 bikes it is both easier & safer, not to mention (it looks super).

Q. Are there any recovery/support vehicles travelling along with the group??
A. Yes there are two (2) recovery vehicles travelling with group, just in case some one runs out of fuel, gets a puncture etc…. and there are also some support cars/bus travelling also with collectors, medics & space for your bags.

Q. Where are the group stopping over in Galway?? Is there any pre booked accommodation .
A. The Group will stop over in Galway on Saturday Night in the Clybaun Hotel, Knocknacarra Road, (between Galway City & Salthill) with Secure under ground parking for those taking part in the Event.

Q. Is there any entertainment or a function arranged for the Saturday stop over??.
A. Yes the function room in the Clybaun Hotel is pre booked for the evening where a live band, raffle, auction & finger food will take place. (super buzz).

Q. Is there secure parking for the bikes and vehicles in Galway??
A. Yes there is an under ground car park which will be allocated only to the bikes and vehicles taking part on the run, no other public vehicles will be allowed entry. This is under the Clybaun hotel, and will be locked at all times until we leave.

Q. Will there be a stop off and refuelling point along the route??.
A. Yes we will be stopping off at Kilmartin’s Service station, at roundabout, start of Athlone bypass on N6, to refuel and grab some refreshments, which will be provided by the Fun Run Team. On our return we will be stopping off for short break and refuelling at Dolans Service Station in Ballinasloe.
